Bloggers and website owners use and swear by AdSense almost religiously, and while it has made a lot of people a lot of money, there are some drawbacks that may keep you from using AdSense or may convince you to take it down.
Low Keyword Popularity
If you have a website based on a keyword that has a decent number of searches, but has almost no one making ads for that keyword, then you may be losing money. One reason is because the ads will be irrelevant for your target market, and another reason is because you may be able to get better money through affiliate marketing or selling e-books. Focus On Money, Not On Quality
Most website owners start a website because they want to make a high-quality website that really gives the Internet some great information. However, as soon as website owners learn that they can make money through AdSense, they slowly but surely start making content that only make better AdSense income, but not good content. This means they focus on keyword percentage instead of quality, and ensuring that ads are relevant, rather than making content that people will actually want to read and be excited about.
Lack of Professional Appearance
Advertisements are an expected part of the Internet. They are plastered on nearly every website, and people see them all the time. However, when you plaster lots of AdSense on your website, it begins to look unprofessional, even amateurish. If you are planning to use your website to make money in any other way, such as selling ebooks, then you should remove AdSense before doing so, unless you want people to think you don’t know the first thing about running a website.
Distracting to Readers
If you use just a small AdSense block, then this may not be a problem, but most people use the biggest blocks they can and always use all three blocks afforded to them. What does this mean? The visitor has to go through a minefield of advertisements in the hopes of finding good content, and if those ads aren’t even relevant, this can make the search even harder. However, since most people are now writing for AdSense, they went through the minefield for nothing. To get most out of Adsense, Read => Earn $100 Everyday from Adsense
Wide Array of Restricted Content
AdSense pretends to be the moral police and they bar you from writing certain content. If there is the slightest whiff of gambling or any of the other restricted categories, your AdSense account will be quickly shut down. Not only that, but AdSense is a little trigger-happy when it comes to banning people’s accounts, so you may find yourself AdSenseless for even small infractions.
